About the Community Empowerment Center

In 2009, RBSCC established the Community Empowerment Center (CEC) to address the long standing social issues of homelessness, poverty, and unemployment. The CEC utilizes innovative and holistic strategies to help vulnerable New Yorkers meet the social and economic requirements of daily living as well as provide the necessary support and skills to help them reach sustainable self sufficiency.

The mission of the Community Empowerment Center is to increase economic independence by challenging perspective, improving tangible skills, and inspiring the confidence to achieve. We are proud to share these values: Community; Commitment; Growth; Understanding; Collaboration; Creativity.

Our primary services now include homeless prevention, re-housing from shelter, legal services, veteran's services, public benefits enrollment, adult education, and job training and placement. We also offer ongoing tenants' rights and financial literacy trainings for community residents.

Please review our programs and the amazing stories of our participants. We hope that you will contact our offices to learn more about our work.
