RBSCC provides home-delivered meals services to elderly clients residing in a large area of Brooklyn, including: Bushwick, Williamsburg, Greenpoint, Bedford Stuyvesant, Fort Green, Crown Heights, Downtown Brooklyn, Brooklyn Heights, Cobble Hill, Boerum Hill, Park Slope, and Red Hook. We have been providing these serves for over 24 years in Bushwick and Williamsburg and in March of 2014 began our large expansion. We prepare and deliver a robust 1,300 hot nutritious meals per day from our Borinquen Plaza Senior Center. We partner with United Jewish Organizations (UJO) of Williamsburg and the Polish Slavic Center in Greenpoint to provide ethnically appropriate meals in Community District #1 and we subcontract with Shalom Senior Center in Crown Heights to provide Glatt Kosher Meals in their community. These services also include weekend meals provided under contract with Citymeals-on-Wheels.

In March of 2014, RBSC expanded its home-delivered meals program at the request of the NYC Department for the Aging, to a large area in North Brooklyn reaching from Fort Greene, Crown Heights, Brooklyn Heights, Park Slope, Red Hook and reaching out to Sunset Park. The program added over 800 meals per day in this expansion.
The majority of the home- delivered meals, approximately 1,300, are prepared on site at the Borinquen Plaza Senior Center in addition to our subcontracted centers. Hot, nutritious meals are prepared and delivered 6 days per week with a chilled meal additionally provided on Saturday for Sunday. The program prepares meals that meet special requests of clients including Asian, vegetarian, lactose and low sodium diets. The agency will also be providing therapeutic meals in the near future.
